Susan Fries resides in Orange County, California.

As a professional flutist, she is equally comfortable in chamber ensembles and in symphony, opera and ballet orchestras. She has performed with Detroit Symphony, Philadelphia Lyric Opera, has toured with American Ballet Theatre and New York City Opera, participated in benefit concerts with Metropolitan Opera members, played numerous European concert tours, and soloed on Hollywood film and television soundtracks.

She studied extensively with the French master, Marcel Moyse and was a dedicated member of Moyse Woodwind and Flute classes. Graduate of the University of Michigan, she has taught at Oberlin Conservatory, Toledo University (Ohio), and currently teaches at Concordia University, Irvine, California.
